These copper foiled business cards I sourced for Peach and Jo Photography demonstrate how sometimes your choice of print can really bring a design to life. Read my blog about different print techniques HERE.
PEAK WEDDINGS AND EVENT
A series of logos created for Stacey at Peak Weddings and Events. She loved them so much she decided to use all of them.
ORANGE TREE WEDDINGS
Since 2012 Orange Tree Weddings have been finding pretty halls, dramatic locations and unique spaces and transforming them into magical romantic wedding venues. With their years of expertise in bar and event management they also offer food and drink packages and wedding planning services.
It's been my pleasure to design for the team since the very beginning, originally commissioned to create a logo and a website design. In 2016 we refreshed the branding creating a new yet consistent look for the website, advertising and van vinyls.
When Bullfrog Arts approached me they already had a logo in place but were looking for a contemporary look that would tie in with their brand.
THE GREEN PLACE
The Green Place have been a regular client for several years now. Originally brought in to design their logo I've since been involved in updating their branding and producing yearly brochures and posters for events. Read my blog about them Here.
You can order personalised versions of my designs or utilise the option to customise them to match your colour schemes.
I also can create tailor made designs from afresh. So if you have an idea in mind or want your stationery truly unique just contact me. I'm happy to design to your creative brief.
I can take any theme forward and apply it to all aspects of your wedding stationery such as save the date cards, RSVP's, order of service, table numbers, place cards, menus and thank you cards.
I will post to anywhere in the UK. For overseas clients I can provide print ready artwork.
Feel free to contact me for an informal chat about what you're looking for.
CD and Vinyl
I have experience in creating artwork for CD's and Vinyl, working with labels or individual artists to create a package suitable for your needs and budget.
I can also take designs forward to create merchandise and advertising.
HEDY WEST - FROM GRANMAW AND ME
This lovely CD from Fledg'ling features Hedy West and her grandmother playing folk music and telling tales from the Appalachian mountains. I drew on the folk traditions of patchwork and sample embroidery to create a collage along with pressed flowers and old photographs of Hedy and her family. The local flora and fauna was clearly important to 'Granmaw' so I did a little research and found an image of an 'indigenous' Carolina wren for the front cover of the booklet.
Finale is a two CD set of Pentangle's last performances, a tour that took place in 2008. I've written a blog post about it HERE
MARTIN CARTHY REISSUE
The reissue of Martin Carthy's first LP on Topic Records involved recreating the original cover and label artwork, creating a new inner sleeve and also a sticker celebrating it's 50th year anniversary. It's available to buy HERE.
THE TRAVELLER'S TALE
New release from Fledg'lin Records - The Brass Project performing John Warren's 'The Traveller's Tale'. Recorded live in 1993 with John Surman.
Two designs I created for the amazing John Kirkpatrick.
Posters & Flyers

From personalised wedding stationery to little bears in wellies, the beauty of illustration is that anything you dream up can be realised.
PASTURES NEW PLAYGROUP
These illustrations were designed for The Pastures New Playgroup. They felt they needed something to liven up their website so asked me to create an illustration for each page. Here we have the 'Welcome', 'Contact us' and 'Breakfast Club' pages.
A Nordic Christmas was a side project of Orange Tree Weddings. Using their experience in transforming halls into beautiful spaces they set up a pop-up winter wonderland for companies to hold their annual Christmas parties. As this was their first venture photos weren't available so I was given the brief of creating a nordic, rustic and retro feel using illustration.
It's always a joy and a welcome challenge to get a creative brief that is out of the ordinary. Here are a few of my favourites...
SHIRLEY COLLINS SOUTHBANK PROGRAMME
Being a huge folk fan I was over the moon to be ask to design the souvenir programme for the 80th Birthday celebrations of the fairy godmother of Folk Shirley Collins. The event took place at the Southbank and saw performances from Alasdair Roberts, Lisa Knapp, Olivia Chaney, Sam Lee, Graham Coxon, and the The Trembling Bells with a re-imagining of the 1971 No Roses album. The 44 page book includes an essay by David Tibet and many previously unpublished photos from Shirley's personal collection. It also includes a 7" vinyl EP of some of Shirley's earliest recordings. There are still a few available to buy on the Fledg'ling Records.
The programme features a front cover illustration by artist David Suff. As I didn't want to cover his lovely artwork we created a translucent paper belly band, this also held the booklet closed, keeping the vinyl EP in place.
I embellished the content with illustrations, collage and textured paper effects. The inspiration behind the design was Shirley's love of the flora and fauna of the Sussex Downs.
TEN MAIN CLOUD TYPES
'The Ten Main Cloud Types' a poster I created for The Cloud Appreciation Society. Available to buy on their website.
SAVE LEICESTER CENTRAL FIRE STATION CAMPAIGN
In 2015 I was approached to create this poster for the 'Save the Leicester Central Fire Station Campaign.' It was distributed all over Leicester for people to put up in windows and show their support. Happily, in January 2016 the decision was over turned and the Fire Station was saved! (For now.)
LEICESTER CRITICAL MASS
In 2017 Leicester Critical Mass celebrates it's 7th Birthday. As the worldwide movement, the group has been tackling the issues facing cyclists by holding a monthly celebration, meeting on the last Friday of the month and spending an hour cycling en masse through the city. The rides are open to everyone and have become a spectacle, to the amusement and occasional annoyance of onlookers. The resulting community has seen the rise of campaign groups who have been successfully campaigning for improved infrastructure in the city. With support from the attendees, the Cycle City Workshop and Ride Leicester I've been creating and producing T-shirts, posters and flyers for the events over the years.
I gave this brief to myself and for some reason I didn't make it easy by deciding I was going to hand screen print all my posters and flyers. It was for a full day event with workshops, films, talks, Morris and maypole dancing, storytelling and an art exhibition I organised at Leicester's Guildhall. I still help promote Ceilidhs and occasional gigs at the Guildhall under the banner Rites of Spring. Find us on Facebook.
I really love how the logo I designed for Goldwater turned out. It captures something of their music and it looks great blown up huge!
